The largest unregulated rapid in Europe. If it’s warm outside it’s also possible to bring food to barbecue and swim suits as the nature reserve has numerous barbecue spots and natural pools you can swim in on the side of the rapid.

A “city” (more village) located next to Jockfall which is located beautifully on the Kalix river, the city itself is not that spectacular but can be nice to have a local brewed beer at Tjers Gästgiveri.
In Kalix municipality. Nice place to drive along the Kalix river, see the rapids and fight the mosquitoes if you like to go into the forest.
A cute little café around 20 minutes driving from the wedding venue. Here you can take a walk in the forest, walk next to the river and have some fika (cookie and coffee).
Located next to the ocean and is also a camping. This place is supposed to have a very nice dinner menu (Amalia has not been herself). You can also go here to swim if it’s warm.

Rather small beach next to the ocean.
A SPA located in Haparanda which has a view over Torneå river (Finland is on the other side of the river) and has one of the largest saunas in the world. They also have quite a nice restaurant at the premises.

As the wedding will be in the summer the ice hotel is melted but year-around they have a showroom with a bar etc that is built all in ice. I would recommend going this also if you are planning to go further up north, for instance Abisko/Kiruna/Norway as this is on the way there.

In this nature reserves goes the most popular hike trail in Sweden, Kungsleden, and it is also close to Kebnekaise which is the highest mountain in Sweden.

It’s located right on the border of Norway. If you want to go to Norway (I highly recommend as only 1 hour from passing the border you will see fjords, high mountains and a completely different landscape than in Sweden) I would recommend driving to Sortland, Nyksund but most of all Lofoten (this by boat).
If anyone is interested in to making it into a roundtrip in the north/Norway I’d be happy to give more detailed descriptions and recommendations on places to see.
Generally Amalia’s brother would also be happy to take groups fishing if that would be of interest.
